A Blend of Merlot 25%, Cabernet Franc 25%, Cabernet Sauvignon 25%, Petit Verdot 17% and Malbec 8%
Rainbow’s End specialize in top quality, boutique, family produced estate red wines. Anton and Francois Malan, direct descendants of the French Huguenot winemaker, Jacques Malan, waited patiently for ten years for their vineyard blocks to age to perfection in order to select the best possible grapes for this artisan creation. Only the best barrels of each variety were selected, blended and aged for two years in small French oak barrels.
What can you expect?
A reflection of Rainbow’s End terroir and one of the best wines the estate has produced to date. Aromas of dark cherry, black plum and cassis followed by a touch of of sage, mint and thyme. Full bodied, the palate offers layers of complexity with soft spice, dark fruit ending with a lingering minty mulberry finish. Soft well balanced tannins. Barrel matured for 24 months in 12 medium toast French oak Barriques. Bottle matured for 18 months.
