Name Inspiration:
Derived from the Latin term "Credo," meaning "I Believe," our Credo Chenin Blanc embodies our winemakers' unwavering belief in crafting an elegant, ever-graceful wine that stands proudly among the world's best. It is a tribute to our dedication to excellence and passion for winemaking.
The Vineyards:
Nestled within the Devon Valley region of Stellenbosch, our vineyards benefit from the unique terroir of this picturesque valley. Here, full ripe fruit is nurtured, handpicked early in the harvest to capture the essence of the land.
The Winemaking Process:
A testament to tradition and innovation, our Chenin Blanc grapes undergo a natural fermentation in a combination of first and second fill French oak barrels. Resting on the primary lees for eight months, with regular batonnage to enhance palate weight, the wine emerges with a textured and lavishly layered complexity. After eight months, it is gently racked from its primary lees and bottled, ready to be savored.
Winemaker's Comments:
An enchanting bouquet of golden apple, honey, and tropical fruit welcomes the senses, setting the stage for a journey of indulgence. Textured and richly layered, notes of toasted nuts, dried apricots, and toffee apples unfold, leading to an excellent mouthfeel and a memorable finish.
Maturation Potential:
While ready to be enjoyed now, our Credo Chenin Blanc possesses a maturation potential of up to five years, promising continued refinement and depth with age.
Food Pairing:
This versatile wine is best paired with exotic spiced dishes or curries, accentuating its vibrant flavors and enhancing the dining experience.
