A Susan Stanleys Exclusive Barrel Selection of Usana's best Pinot Gris from their 2021 vintage.
All the grapes came from a block on the Winshaw's Family farm, Klein Welmoed in
Stellenbosch. The grapes are harvested by hand in individual bins in optimal conditions to ensure true quality from beginning to end. This wine was whole bunch pressed and then naturally fermented in older French Oak barrels. The wine spent extended time on the lees before racking. The barrels were later blended before bottling.
What can you expect?
The wine is beautifully elegant and fresh with hints of Granny Smith apple some pear and white peach. The lees contact adds lovely texture and weight to the palate.
Food pairing?
It has good depth and Pinot Gris is very versatile with food. Paired
well with seafood, pasta or vegetarian dishes. Be adventurous and add some spice.
Aging Potential?
We believe this wine will age well. Drinking well now but should age well over the next 5 years in the bottles.
