The Upper Hemel-en-Aarde valley is an ethereal place, a secluded valley in the Overberg region where you’ll find some of the finest wine producers in South Africa. Among them, is Bosman Family Vineyards’ second property. A cool climate setting for “experimental” vines according to Winemaker, Natasha Williams - it’s here that these passionate vine growers are searching for the ideal balance between terroir and varietal.
Natasha carefully curates the fruits of these vines into limited liters of wine and these wines are sometimes blended into what Natasha calls her “field blends”. This is her “playground”, a much-vaunted opportunity that winemakers covet for the freedom it offers them to learn, test, observe and discover. It is from just 2 barrels of Zinfandel, and 2 different “Field Blends” that we procure the Bosman Family Vineyards Upper Hemel-en-Aarde range of wines on offer to you as a Susan Stanleys Exclusive.
Many marketing campaigns will boast of exclusivity but we can assure you that these three wines are literally only available from us:
Bosman Family Vineyards Upper Hemel-en-Aarde Primitivo 2020 - also known as Zinfandel, this is a 100% Primitivo from just 2 barrels.
Bosman Family Vineyards Upper Hemel-en-Aarde Red Blend 2020 - This Red Blend is: 61% Merlot, 19% Roobernet, 11% Malbec, 4.5% Petit Verdot, 4.5% Ruby Cabernet
Bosman Family Vineyards Upper Hemel-en-Aarde Triple T 2020 - A Red Blend comprised of 55% Tannat, 27% Touriga Franca, 18% Tinta Barocca
In this interview with Natasha Williams, Brand Ambassador Guy McDonald delves into what inspired Natasha to be a winemaker, what her favourite varietals are, her hidden talents and of course her insights into these three wines and why you should purchase them TODAY.
