Quest Wines
Vineyards have shown to possess unique fingerprints in centuries gone by. Every block of vines expresses distinctive characteristics, and the finest winemakers know that viticulture starts in the soil. In 2010 our winemaker began travelling in search of the purest fruit from first growth appellations across the wine regions of the Western Cape. Every new vintage becomes a quest to find the different components to make up the perfect blend that meets the winemaker’s requirements.
The pursuit of excellence began in 2011 when Quest aspired to showcase a range of iconic French blends, styles and varieties grown and expressed through South African soils.
Maiden vintages included 3000 bottles of a 2011 Bordeaux style (Cabernet, Merlot and Petit Verdot blend) and a 2011 Rhône style (Syrah and Mourvèdre blend) with premium grapes sourced from Stellenbosch, Franschoek, Paarl, Swartland and Darling. It became the nascence of the Quest odyssey which led to the release of a Blanc de Blanc Brut Cap Classique and Cinsault inspired Brut Rosé Cap Classique in 2017.
The first white wine introduced to the boutique range was made from a certified Breedekloof old vine Chenin Blanc vineyard planted in 1985. Member of the exclusive Breedekloof Makers initiative, the elegant Chenin completes the Quest range.
